Its pretty chilly out today, dress warm.

Weather: -9 feels like -18 strong winds

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Northern Ontario will see blizzards, blowing snow, and snow squalls over the coming day. Across the region travel is likely to be impacted. In the Kenora / Dryden / Ignace area school buses are not running, schools however are open.

Travel by air into the North is likely to be impacted, check with your air service provider to ensure your flight.

Blizzard warning in effect for:

  • Attawapiskat
  • Fort Severn – Washaho Cree Nation
  • Peawanuk
  • Fort Hope – Webequie
  • Big Trout Lake – Kasabonika
  • Sachigo Lake – Bearskin Lake

Blizzard conditions with gusty winds and persistent visibility near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring.

Blizzard conditions are expected to develop this afternoon. Conditions will persist through Thursday and possibly into Friday.

Travel is not recommended. Avoid outdoor activities. Anyone who is not dressed warmly is at risk of frostbite and hypothermia in cold weather. [..]
